The non-minimal-coupling escape route named in C-0024 is now priced by the corpus, and it narrows at both levels. At the quantum-inequality level, Fewster & Osterbrink (2008) show that for coupling constants 0 < xi <= 1/4 — a range that includes conformal coupling xi = 1/6 — local averages of the energy density are unbounded from below over Hadamard states, so the state-INdependent Ford-Roman-type bound is genuinely lost; but a state-DEPENDENT quantum energy inequality still holds on general globally hyperbolic spacetimes and is a non-trivial restriction, so the bound weakens rather than vanishes. At the averaged-null-energy level, Fliss, Freivogel, Kontou & Santos (2023) show that when the non-minimal coupling is treated as part of an effective field theory whose field value is controlled by the cutoff, the ANEC — whose violation is necessary for traversable-wormhole-type geometry — is obeyed both classically and in QFT. The escape survives only outside EFT control: unbounded field values or exact (non-effective) non-minimal theories, neither of which any corpus source exhibits for a warp configuration.
